THE ALCHEMIST: My Reading
Mason Cooley said," Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are."This statement is well justified reading this part of literature when we are stuck in this mid covid world.
I know many of you are still thinking what is the meaning of the word Alchemist. Some of you might have Googled it. Alchemist is the one who studies Alchemy that is the chemical science which is used for transmutation of base metals into gold ,like lead into gold.
The major themes that are raised by the book are dreams, spiritual fulfillment and person transformation. The book is about the boy Santiago who loves to travel freely around the world. In order to achieve his dreams he choose to be a shepherd despite being a prodigy.Along the way, he meets his soulmate, finds a long-buried treasure, and learns how to be interact with nature. Not only this but also he meets an Alchemist who was having Philosopher's stone and The Elixir of life which are two things which make an Alchemist, I can say,a magician. When I start reading this book it was like a fantasy . But gradually it reveals the nature's truth and the Power of a spiritual heart.
"When you want something, all the
universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." This dialogue was first of Paulo Coelho then of Shahrukh Khan in Om Shanti Om. Lol!!!
All the characters are having their own mystery. Reading this book is quiet a wonderful experience. Hoping from you to add this book to your 'books to read' section. A perfect past time for the introverts. You will be surely left with the smile on your face when you complete this one!
